Patience, Light, and Progress: Diva's Story

What started as a hoof abscess turned into a months-long healing journey — and Red Light Therapy was there every step of the way.

Meet Diva.

Diva is a 4-year-old spotted Appaloosa who came up lame on her right hind leg on July 1st. Two days later, an abscess ruptured at her coronary band. What her owner initially hoped would be a straightforward recovery soon revealed itself to be something more serious — what was first thought to be a typical abscess may have actually been caused by a spider bite, resulting in significant tissue damage and a hoof that needed to fully regrow from the coronary band down.

Beginning July 4th — just days after the rupture — Diva's owner began daily EquiSol Red Light Therapy sessions to support circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue repair at the site. The EquiSol™ Bell Boot made it easy to deliver targeted light therapy directly to the coronary band and pastern area with every session.

This was not a quick recovery. Even by the final documented photo on September 15th — two and a half months in — Diva's hoof was still actively regrowing. But the progress across those months was undeniable, and throughout the process, Diva remained comfortable and continued healing steadily.

Diva's story isn't about a dramatic before-and-after — it's about what happens when you show up every day and give the body what it needs to heal. Light, time, and care made the difference. We're proud to have been part of her journey and can't wait to see her hoof fully restored.
