Two Whippets. One Terrifying Night. An Incredible Recovery.

When a rattlesnake bit both mother and daughter in a single backyard encounter, one recovery unfolded dramatically faster than the other ever had.

Meet Hula and Glimmer.

Meet Hula and Glimmer, a mother-and-daughter pair of Whippets whose ordinary evening turned into an emergency when they encountered a rattlesnake in their own backyard. Both dogs were bitten, Glimmer in the face, and Hula in the shoulder, leaving her unable to stand on the affected leg. Both required emergency veterinary care and antivenom.

Hula's condition became especially concerning. She developed significant swelling and was in severe pain, ultimately spending five days hospitalized while her veterinary team aggressively treated her. During her recovery, Hula's family received a DogSol® red and infrared light therapy coat to support her healing and comfort.

The results were remarkable. Just over four weeks after the bite, Hula's wound was healing dramatically faster than her family had experienced with Glimmer's rattlesnake bite three years earlier, a previous injury that took approximately 8 to 9 months to fully heal.

While Hula's veterinary treatment, including emergency care and antivenom, was essential to her recovery, her family credits DogSol® as an important part of her supportive healing routine, one that helped make her recovery more comfortable along the way.

Today, Hula is continuing to heal, surrounded by the people and pack who never gave up on her. From a terrifying rattlesnake encounter to a recovery that exceeded expectations, we're incredibly grateful to Hula and Glimmer's family for sharing their story and letting us follow Hula's journey. Support healing. Support recovery. Keep them shining.
